Cartoon Ludo with expressive rivals, online rooms and offline play
Roll & Roast is a casual Ludo-inspired board game you can launch in your browser. Cartoon pawns and dice, expressive rivals, lessons, challenges, stories and optional rules make each match feel different. Play solo, on one shared screen or in a private online room with friends. Progress stays on this device.
Play nowFree browser gameplay
Open the game on desktop or mobile without mandatory installation or an account, offline or online. The progressive web app can be installed and used offline after its necessary assets have been cached.
Thirty expressive rivals
Meet the roster, with portraits, play styles and reactions. Styles include aggressive, cautious, opportunist, speedrunner and balanced. Difficulty and local adaptive learning can be configured or turned off. A personality is not a skill rank.
Solo, resume and same-screen friends
Play against bots or pass the device among friends, with two to four colors. The match in progress can be saved and resumed in this browser, all without an internet connection.
Private online rooms
Play with friends on 2 to 4 separate devices. Create a room, share the code or invite link, and mix people and bots. The server rolls the dice and validates every move with the same rules as the offline game, including Quick Match and the optional rules the host picks. If your connection drops you get your seat back; anyone who is away is covered by an announced stand-in bot until they return. No account, no matchmaking with strangers and no rankings.
Classic, Quick Match and optional rules
In Classic, the first player to bring all four pawns home wins. Quick Match shortens that to two pawns and starts each player with one pawn already on their start square. You can enable Go Around, Play Until the End in Classic, blockades, optional mine or portal tiles and the Reserve Entry bonus.
Reserve Entry
An optional rule for when you are stuck in the yard. Every 3 rounds a parachute bonus tile appears on the quietest part of the board, with a 60-second countdown of active play that pauses during pauses and animations. Whoever ends a move on it stores a charge and can spend it instead of rolling: the pawn floats down onto its start square by parachute, no six needed. If nobody leaves the yard in the first 3 rounds, every player gets one emergency charge, once. Bots and people follow exactly the same rules.
Guided lessons
Five short lessons use real engine positions: rolling and leaving the yard, a roll with no move, capture and safe squares, the home lane, and Go Around. During matches the game explains why a pawn can or cannot move, and shows a tip the first time a rule appears.
Challenges and a daily puzzle
Solve offline puzzles for captures, Go Around, finishing and other goals, with the fixed dice shown in the brief. A daily challenge is chosen on this device. Results never leave the browser.
Stories and reactions
Rivals react to plays and can remember local meetings: wins, losses and moments from your rivalry. Stories, speech and bot memory can be turned off in settings.
Statistics and achievements
Your path keeps completed matches, wins, captures and achievements on this device, with filters for mode and rules. There is no public leaderboard and no account. The recent history has a limit shown in the game.
Collection and board looks
Unlock looks with real milestones: die skins, pawn rings, celebrations, speech-bubble frames and board themes. They are presentation only. They do not change the die, legal moves or difficulty.
Best moments
Record local highlights and make a recap image on this device. Nothing is uploaded; you choose where the image goes. Recording can be turned off.
Language, theme and accessibility
The interface is available in English and European Portuguese. Follow the system theme or choose light or dark, and adjust sound, contrast and reduced motion.
